2. ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Ayu.

I was born and raised in Japan, but I've always been curious about the world beyond it.

Over the years, I've traveled, lived abroad, and experienced different cultures. Those experiences taught me to appreciate both the beauty of Japan and the creativity, diversity, and freedom I found around the world.

Both continue to shape the way I think, create, and express myself today.

In 2025, I started sharing my thoughts, lifestyle, fashion, and creative projects on social media.

To my surprise, people connected with more than just the outfits or photos.

They connected with the way I saw the world.

Many told me they felt inspired by my perspective, creativity, and honesty. That encouragement became the starting point of ISSOO.

I realized that the things I loved weren't meant to stay hidden in my own little world.

I wanted to share them.

I've always loved fashion.

Not because I wanted to impress people, but because getting dressed has always been a way for me to feel motivated, confident, and more like myself.

For a long time, though, I believed fashion was something reserved for people with the "right" body type.

I wasn't tall.
I wasn't a model.
I had plenty of insecurities.

And because of that, I often felt that fashion wasn't really for me.

As the years passed, something changed.

Maybe it was age.
Maybe it was living abroad.
Maybe it was seeing more diverse representations of beauty.

Whatever the reason, I began to realize that those insecurities weren't weaknesses.

They were experiences.

And those experiences taught me how to dress for myself, how to build confidence, and how to enjoy fashion without trying to become someone else.

That's the heart of ISSOO.

Fashion isn't only for people who fit a certain standard.

It's for anyone who wants to express themselves.

Because of the challenges I've faced, I've spent years learning how to make style work in real life.

And if those lessons can help someone else feel more confident, then sharing them is worth it.

ISSOO is a collection of everything I love:
